Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI)
S. Kellie Williams is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) for the mighty 'Islanders' of John Fitzgerald Kennedy High School's (JFKHS) Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program. Together with two Senior Non-Commissioned Officers she leads the GU-051's 248 member cadet corps in performing duties, accepting responsibilities, and meeting standards as prescribed by the Department of Defense, United States Air Force, and AFJROTC Instructions. She and her team supervise all cadets participating in official AFJROTC school and community service events, and other unit activities to include on & off island drill competitions, curriculum-in-action trips, and base visits that enhance AFJROTC mission objectives. Col Williams took the helm as JFKHS's SASI in Aug 2020, and in addition to serving as the Department Chair and liaison between JFKHS's principal and AFJROTC Headquarters she teaches AFJROTC 101, 301, & 401 Aerospace Science and Leadership curricula.
Prior to accepting the JFKHS JROTC SASI position Colonel Williams served as a career medical officer in the United States Air Force. She retired from active duty on 1 Jan 2018, after 27 years of service which culminated at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ where she served as the Deputy Command Surgeon for 12th Air Force, Air Forces Southern (Latin America) Her active USAF service began as an enlisted member upon graduation from high school in 1986 and she commissioned in 2001 following completion of an advanced clinical degree in Physical Therapy from the Polytechnic Hogeschool University, Enschede, The Netherlands.
